Rep. Chu Statement Disappointed by Fifth Circuit Court Decision on Immigration Actions

Published on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 | 11:23 am

Tuesday, the U.S. CourtA of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled to uphold a February preliminary injunction on Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and the expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals programs. Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) released the following statement:

“I am disappointed by Tuesday’s decision, but not dissuaded. We must not continue to ignore the millions of immigrant families who have made the United States their home and wish to contribute to our communities. The longer we delay implementing the President’s executive actions on immigration, the longer we delay the security that these families and communities deserve.

“I want to make it clear to the hundreds of families waiting in my district and the thousands across the country, that Tuesday’s decision is not the end at all. Ultimately, we are on the right side of the law and we will continue to fight until DAPA and DACA become a reality.”
