On Sunday, October 22nd, 2017, the New Hollywood String Quartet, the Series’ Quartet in Residence, will present the outstanding performances of Tereza Stanislav and Rafael Rishik – violins, Robert Brophy – viola, and Andrew Shulman – cello presenting the music of Beethoven’s Op. 18 No. 5; Bernard Herrmann’s “ECHOES”; and Schumann’s No. 1, Op. 41 in A minor.
Tereza Stanislav – Award winning Miss Stanislav was appointed assistant concert-master of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra by music director Jeffrey Kahane. She holds a Master of Music from the Juilliard School.
Rafael Rishik – Mr. Rishik is a regular participant in numerous music festivals, is actively involved with the Motion Picture Recording Industry in Los Angeles and is a founding member of the NHSQ. He performs on a rare Joseph Rocca violin.
Robert Brophy – Mr. Brophy’s orchestral experience has toured throughout Europe, North and South America. He began his studies at Chetham’s School of Music playing violin, taught by Wen Zhou Li, his Master’s Degree from Rice University.
Andrew Shulman – London born, Mr. Shulman was the first ever British winner of the “Piatigorsky Artist Award”, and his career has taken him world-wide. As conductor he has performed extensively in Europe; and as composer, he recently premiered his “Smaller Music for Strings” in the UK to great critical acclaim.
Restoration Concerts’ Series will be held at South Pasadena Public Library’s Community Room – 1115 El Centro Street, South Pasadena. Tickets costs $20.00 at the door.
