Rev. Susan Russell ‘But the Bible Says …’

The Rev. Susan Russell will lead a discussion on “‘But the Bible Says …’Liberating Ourselves from the Bible as a Weapon of Exclusion” on Sunday, May 25, 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. in the Guild Room at All Saints Church, 132 N. Euclid Avenue, Pasadena.

“We owe the precious gift of the scriptures that are our heritage as Christian people too much to allow them to be hijacked and used as weapons of oppression rather than as means of grace,” writes Russell in an invitation to the event. “And it has perhaps never been more important for one to know everyone’s story in order to both claim it and to proclaim it.” Russell will lead a presentation and discussion of the Bible in general — and the “clobber passages” in particular — designed to equip participants to respond to Bible questions with love, compassion and information.
