A man released from Pasadena City Jail last night vented his anger against police by damaging three parked cruisers and was immediately re-arrested, Pasadena Police Lt. Tom Delgado said.
“The jail door where you leave is off of Walnut [Street]. Our cars are parked on Walnut,” Delgado said. As he left the jail, the suspect “began to bang on police vehicles” with his fists.
“The suspect broke the side mirror and spotlight on one unit, the windshield wipers of another unit, and bent the rear antenna and trunk of the third unit,” Delgado said.
Delgado identified the suspect as Manuel Venegas, a 48-year-old transient, who had been earlier arrested for public intoxication.
Venegas was immediately arrested for the vandalism.
“He is currently residing in our jail again,” Delgado said.
