Roasting Up Some Fun

King’s Row Gastropub has a full plate of promotions

As if roasting a pig wasn’t enough adventure, King’s Row Gastropub is chock full of special promotions, specials and cool events, throughout the month of January and beyond.

In fact, this Thursday, it’s the Hangar 24 Pugachev’s Cobra Release Party, celebrating the release of the new Pugachev’s Cobra beer. King’s Row will have as many roll series beers as they can get their hands on. A host of employees from Hangar 24 will be on hand to spread the love as well, and as usual, King’s Row’s full dinner menu will be available. That one is January 23, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Come February, it’s Smoke and Beers, a Smog City and King’s Row Beer Dinner. The pub will take a whole bunch of great courses, and pair each one up with a Smog City beer.

• Course 1 paired with Lil Bo’ Pils: Smoked gouda & porter honey, plus fresh beer bread and cornichons
• Course 2 paired with Smog City Saison: Arrugula, smoked beets, apples, and avocado
• Course 3 paired with Sabre Tooth Squirrel: Smoked Clam chowder, or a vegetable potato leek chowder
• Course 4 Paired with a top-secret special IPA: Smoked Ducketta, Duxelle roulade, mustard gnocchi, and vegetable.
• Course 5 Paired with Smaug: Smoked Lamb curry/gosht, basmati rice, chutneyand yogurt.
• Course 6 Paired with The Nothing: Candy bar pie with smoked nuts

There is limited seating for this event.

The Pig Roast returns February 20, 2014, this time featuring Epic Brewing Company’s brews. The King’s Row signature Oinker will come out of the hot box at 6 p.m, after being slow-roasted all day to perfection. At only $15 per plate, guests can easily pig out. The night’s beer menu includes Two Casks, Brettanomyces Beers, Nitro IPA’s and Belgian Ales, and more.

The evening gets going February 20, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Cicerone Series 2014 – Event #1
The art of pairing the perfect beer with the perfect isn’t just some of this, and some of that. Patrons can now learn the art from certified Cicerone (one who pairs beers and food for a living), James Willis, about an emerging trend in the market, Ciders and gluten-free beer. Learn about how gluten free beers are made, what kind of ciders are popular and what’s new in the marketplace. There will be beers to taste and information to be gleaned. This is a free class, but with a limit of 15 people. Reserve a space by emailing James@kingsrowpub.com Class comes to attention February 27, 2014, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Ommegang Beer Dinner
Ommegang and King’s Row are teaming up to prepare a unique prix fixe menu for 30 people. Menu and Beer Pairing Information for this one is still being prepared, but you can save that date: March 6, 2014, 7- 9 p.m.

March Pig Roast Featuring Eagle Rock Brewing Company
It’s our March Monthly Pig Roast. Come enjoy some of our signature Oinker. As always, it’ll come out of the hot box at 6 p.m., after being slow-roasted all day to perfection. Just $25 gets customers a heaping plate of excellent.

The Eagle Rock Brewing Company is also providing us with two casks of their fine beer and 10 drink tokens will be given to the person that taps the cask to use as they choose. This one begins March 20, 2014, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Blind Leading the Blind #1, a free Blind Tasting Event
King’s Row is offering customers the chance to come by and taste a bunch of IPA’s from breweries like Stone, New Belgium, Smog City, Epic, Firestone Walker, and more. The free blind tasting starts at 6pm. The only requirement is that customers pick three favorites. King’s Row will announce the winner of the title of “Best IPA in Pasadena.” The winner of the contest will be featured in our tap list for the entire month of April. Set the date: March 27, 2014 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

King’s Row also has its usual fun weekly events; It’s All Day Happy Hour Every Tuesday as well as Paint Nite every Tuesday. Sounds colorful, right, interested colorologists can go to www.paintnite.com for ticketing information. Every Wednesday, there’s the “Geeks Who Drink” Pub Quiz, with Trivia at 8 p.m.

There’s also live music every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
