An armed robber held up a Pasadena restaurant Wednesday night but got away with only food, Police Sgt. John Luna said this morning.
The incident occurred about 9:45 p.m. in the 500 block of South Lake Ave. The robber ordered food, then waited until the restaurant was empty of other diners before he brandished a firearm and demanded cash from a restaurant worker.
Before he could collect any cash, the robber fled — taking his unpaid-for dinner with him.
No one was injured in the incident, Sgt. Luna said, and the value of the stolen dinner was less than $10.
The suspect is described as a white male aged 35 to 40 years old, about six feet tall, who was sporting a thick mustache and beard.
