Float will celebrate Snyder’s moving story of hope and her journey to Madison Square Garden for The Cowboy Channel’s Rodeo New York 2020

Nationally-recognized western sports network, The Cowboy Channel (TCC) announced today that paraplegic rodeo star Amberley Snyder will lead their 2020 Tournament of Roses float, Walk Ride Rodeo, which is celebrating Amberley’s powerful story defying the odds and her journey to New York City for Rodeo New York, coming to Madison Square Garden in June 2020. Her story reflects this year’s Rose Parade theme, “The Power of Hope”.
Amberley’s story began on January 10th, 2010, just ten days following her Rose Parade debut on RFD-TV’s FFA Today float, when she was driving her truck on the way to a Denver-based rodeo and slid off the road. She was ejected from her vehicle, where she broke her back and immediately lost feeling in her legs. After five hours of emergency surgery and a doctor’s prognosis that she was paralyzed, Amberley knew her top priority wouldn’t be to walk again, but to ride her horse. Remarkably, four months later, she was back on her saddle strapped by a seatbelt competing in rodeos again. Her story was most recently told in NETFLIX’s Walk. Ride. Rodeo. film.
“There is no better person to represent hope than Amberley Snyder,” said Raquel Gottsch, CEO of The Cowboy Channel. “We’re thrilled she will be joining us on this year’s float, and we look forward to amplifying her story of hope to the millions of viewers tuning into the 2020 Rose Parade. She shows how facing adversity can make a person stronger, and we’re honored to have a role model like Amberley represent our network.”
“Hope is the most powerful thing a person can have,” said Amberley. “It is such a big reason for how I have gotten this far. I am super thrilled to be a part of this year’s float!”
Elements linking Amberley and her Rodeo New York launch include a mechanical bull that will be featured on top of New York’s Madison Square Garden, shadowed by the iconic Chrysler Building, Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. Renderings of The Cowboy Channel and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) logos will accommodate the float, which follows the PRCA’s multi-year agreement with TCC parent company Rural Media Group that will expand its PRCA Wrangler National Finals Rodeo programming, dubbed as the “Superbowl of Rodeos”, beginning in 2020.
The float, which depicts the rodeo champion on her horse surrounded by the American flag, will underscore Amberley’s triumphant story of getting back on a horse and competing in rodeos again, becoming a beacon of hope across the country and the inspiration for Walk. Ride. Rodeo., which has been viewed by thousands.
Amberley will be accompanied by some of The Cowboy Channel’s Rodeo New York athletes: JJ Hampton (Breakaway Roping), Luke Branquinho (Steer Wrestling), Hunter Cure (Steer Wrestling), Fallon Taylor (Barrel Racing), Sherry Cervi (Barrel Racing) and Cory Petska (Team Roping) are a handful of 65 of the world’s top professional rodeo athletes who will be competing for $1,000,000 in prize money for three days and four sessions from June 19-21st, 2020.
