Pasadena police officers arrested a 23-year-old Pasadena man after he allegedly attacked his roommate early Tuesday morning during a heated argument.

Lt. Mark Goodman said the suspect and the victim, a 51-year-old Pasadena resident, were residing in the same apartment in the 400 block of North Los Robles Avenue in Pasadena.

At about 4:02 a.m., a dispute arose between them about the suspect allegedly making too much noise, Goodman said.

“An argument ensued, and the suspect lunged at the victim with a knife, an approximately four-inch long kitchen knife,” Goodman said. “The victim was able to avoid the suspect’s attempt to stab him, except for the knife cut him just behind his neck and caused an approximate four- inch laceration at the back of his neck.”

Goodman said the cut was non-life threatening. Officers responded to the scene and located the suspect, who has been identified as Jorge Olguin, a Pasadena resident.

The suspect was subsequently arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, Goodman added. The victim did not require hospitalization.
