Over a dozen UCLA Rose Bowl Bruins huddled Tuesday night at the Pasadena Senior Center for a relaxing, festive holiday potluck and white elephant gift exchange.

Formed in 1982, the association is open to UCLA alumni and supports the greater interests of the University and connecting local alumni to campus.

The local group regularly plans a lot of activities.

Over this past year, the Rose Bowl Bruins hiked on the Cherry Canyon Trail next to Descanso Gardens, enjoyed UCLA football game-watching parties at Bar Celona in Old Town on Colorado Blvd. (owner Jack Huang is a Bruin alum) and also at the dusitD2/ Hotel Constance, attended a book club discussion of The UCLA Common Book for 2017-2018, “The Best We Could Do” by Thi Bui, and went to the theatre for a Bruins Supporting Bruins Sunday matinee of the comedy “Native Gardens” at the Pasadena Playhouse, including a meet and greet with cast members after the performance (a third of the ticket prices benefitted the UCLA Rose Bowl Bruins Scholarship Fund).

The group’s members span a variety of ages and interests, around a common love of all things Bruin.
