The Pasadena Pride Center (PPC) is launching a Needs Assessment of the San Gabriel Valley (SGV) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) individuals to gather information about important issues affecting their lives.

The project consists of an online survey and four Listening Forums conducted throughout the San Gabriel Valley.

The online survey component of the SGV LGBTQ Community Needs Assessment can be completed in about 15 minutes and accessed by visiting http://ow.ly/XmV1t. PPC’s goal is to gather 2,000 completed surveys by April 2016.

The first Listening Forum on Wednesday, January 27 will concentrate on the Greater Pasadena Communities, including the cities Alhambra, Altadena, Glendale, La Cañada-Flintridge, Northeast Los Angeles, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena and surrounding areas.

The Listening Form will run from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Epic Spaces Co-Working Center located at 680 West Colorado Boulevard, Suite 180, Pasadena.

Concerns, issues, and solutions discussed will be released in a June 2016 report, supporting strategic planning efforts to address the issues that affect the quality of life of the SGV LGBTQ communities.

“This project will allow the SGV LGBTQ communities to share our concerns with elected officials and organizations, so they can provide programs and services that meet our specific needs.” said Aaron Saenz, Board President of the Pasadena Pride Center.

The Pasadena Pride Center is working to promote a safe and inclusive San Gabriel Valley for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
