Police confirmed a man is dead and another recovering from a gunshot wound after a confrontation in a Rose Bowl parking lot Saturday night.
At about 11:22 p.m., Pasadena Police responded to the area of Arroyo Blvd and Seco Street regarding a physical altercation and shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and located the two victims.
Pasadena Fire Department paramedics arrived and transported both victims to a local hospital, one in stable condition and the second victim in grave condition.
Despite the life-saving efforts of medical staff, the second victim succumbed to his injury. The victim has been identified as Kamryn Stone, 18 years old, and a Los Angeles resident.
The additional victim is a 51-year-old Los Angeles resident. He is recovering from a gunshot wound, and is in stable condition.
City officials said that the UCLA football game had concluded about three hours earlier. “The Rose Bowl parking lots were empty,” a statement said.
Pasadena Police Detectives responded to the scene, and have taken the lead in furthering the investigation. The motive for the altercation that led to the shooting remains under investigation.
Preliminarily it appears this incident may not be random in nature, and the investigation is on-going with no further details being released at this time.
