Flintridge Proper improves on a few good things

Everyone wants to eat a healthy lunch. And that includes the staff of The Flintridge Proper, where they’ve recently expanded their Farm-to-Table Lunch Offerings with lots of new quick and healthy choices including new market salads, new sandwiches and a new burger menu featuring their house-ground, grass-fed beef.

The Farmer’s Market Chopped, for example, is Baldwin Park Burrata, Marinated market veggies,Garbanzos, local Soppressata Salami and Pepperoncini Dressing.

In the mood for a picnic? Their Picnic Basket Salad is cold fried chicken, butter lettuce, deviled eggs, cherry tomatoes, housemade bread & butter pickles,
sunflower seeds and a Buttermilk Dressing. You’ll have to bring your own blanket, though.

The Grilled Salmon salad is 6 ounces of Sustainable Salmon, Wild Arugula, Marinated Cherry Tomatoes, Grilled Asparagus, topped with Cucumber and a Sherry Vinaigrette dressing. This one is all about fresh and healthy.

The Proper’s sandwich menu, always a hit, now features a caravan of healthy sandwich choices, all available with Market Grapes, Sub Proper Fries or Smooshed Potatoes.

The Proper Grilled Chicken Sandwich, for example, is topped with avocado, wild arugula, Aioli, aged Provolone and Red Onion marmalade— a unique and fresh option.

But what’s lunch without a BLT? At the Proper it’s double smoked bacon, avocado, tomato, butter lettuce, and Housemade mayo on toasted sourdough. You can even add a couple eggs if you’re in the mood.

Something different? Why, the Fried Cheese Sandwich, of course. That would be smoked mozzarella, mixed greens, tomato & Aioli served on a burger bun.

Something spicier? That could only be the Scorpion Chile Pulled Chicken sandwich, with Spicy Scorpion Chile Sauce, bleu cheese, and butter lettuce.

Something grilled? The Grilled Shrimp Sandwich, of course, with marinated shrimp, avocado, bacon bits, shredded iceberg lettuce & Housemade Aioli.

And of course, the Proper wouldn’t be proper without its classic lineup of burgers.

From the original Proper Burger, with House-ground, grass-fed Paso Robles Beef, Housemade American cheese, Housemade thousand island dressing and shredded lettuce with a big fistful of Proper fries, to the Brunch Burger with cheddar, bacon, egg, on a Buttered bun, or the Foothills Burger with avocado, butter lettuce, tomato, and Aioli, your lunch could be more than just lunch.

Flintridge Proper also has a Kid’s Cheeseburger, or a Junior-sized Proper Burger with Proper Fries, Grapes or a Green Salad.
