On Saturday, June 11, 2016, STEAM:CODERS took fifteen high school students to The Paley Center for Media and Google for a special student program celebrating STEM, and new ideas for more diverse representations on the screen.
The day begin with a special keynote conversation featuring the team behind Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Student teams broke into working groups in order to brainstorm ideas for STEM related storylines for the series. Writers and producers from the show were on hand to mentor the participants. The students then had an opportunity to “pitch” their ideas to the larger group, resulting in a fun and educational interactive session! Full STEAM Ahead!
