Twenty-one marching bands from across the United States and Canada, as well as some from other countries, will be showcasing their talents before they march and play in the 2019 Rose Parade during BandFest, a two-day exhibition at the Pasadena City College campus, on Saturday and Sunday, December 29 and 30.

The Tournament of Roses has scheduled three showtimes for BandFest, presented by REMO: one on Saturday morning, one on Sunday morning and another Sunday afternoon — each event with a different lineup of bands performing.

In July, the Tournament of Roses Association announced it had selected the marching bands that will be part of 130th Rose Parade presented by Honda, themed “The Melody of Life.”

The bands come from across the U.S. and countries such as Canada, Costa Rica, Japan, Puerto Rico, and Sweden. Marching bands from the University of Washington and Ohio State University are to be part of the Rose Parade as well, as their teams – the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Washington Huskies – play each other in the Rose Bowl.

BandFest will be held at the Robinson Stadium at PCC, located at 1570 E. Colorado Blvd. General admission tickets are for $15, and children five and under are free.

The band show opens at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Gates open at least 30 minutes before show time.

Free parking is available in Structure 4 at PCC, with the entrance on the north side of Del Mar Blvd. between Bonnie Avenue and Hill Avenue.
