The 2019 Pasadena Skills Challenge Game brought together Pasadena first responders playing against youth from the Pasadena Elite Basketball Academy on Wednesday.

The game was the first in a series, which will take place over two months with the other dates on March 20 and April 13. The purpose is to give the groups, comprised of members of the public and first responders from Pasadena Police and Fire Departments, an opportunity engage with each other in a different setting.

The effort is designed to bridge the gap that exists between the community and public safety officers.

The game was held at the Staples Center and was well attended. There are still two more games set between these groups on March 20 and April 13, and will be held to continue to build a sense of community.
