Following the proclamation of February 25 as Big Bang Theory Day, the City of Pasadena has given the hit comedy series an honorary street designation.

The “Big Bang Theory Alley” sign was revealed to the cast when they guested Wednesday night on Conan O’Brien’s show on TBS.

“It is true. They sent us the sign,” Conan said as he held up the street sign. “Why did they have to go out of their way to say ‘Alley?’”

The cast – Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch – later posed for a photo in the studio holding the street sign.

The sign will be hung near the Pasadena City Hall for the weeks surrounding the official day which is also when the 200th episode – called “The Celebration Experimentation” – airs.

In the episode, the gang celebrates Sheldon’s birthday, with special guests Christine Baranski, Sara Gilbert, Adam West and Wil Wheaton.

“The City of Pasadena is proud of its comedic and scientific association with The Big Bang Theory,” Pasadena Councilmember Andy Wilson said in a press release. “Pasadena was already known throughout the world for having the foremost astronomers, chemists and scientific thinkers who do very serious work here, but thanks to The Big Bang Theory, being smart in Pasadena is now fun too.”
