–To discuss what the future should hold for Pasadena, the city welcomes residents to its third, and final, open house from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Victory Park Recreation Center.
“Our Pasadena – Putting the Plan in Motion,” is a significant step toward implementation of the city’s recently updated General Plan, which guides future growth and development for Pasadena.
The “Our Pasadena” program focuses on updating the city’s Zoning Code and establishes neighborhood-specific design and land-use goals for all eight of its areas: Central District, East Pasadena, East Colorado, Fair Oaks/Orange Grove, Lamanda Park, Lincoln Avenue, North Lake, and South Fair Oaks. The code will be updated to establish new development standards and design guidelines that support the vision, goals, and policies outlined in the Specific Plans and the General Plan.
At Thursday’s meeting, staffers from the Planning and Community Development Department will be on hand to provide an introduction to the program to address any questions about the effort.
Following Thursday’s open house, Pasadena will host workshops in each of the eight Specific Plan Areas in late spring 2018, which will allow people to gain a more detailed understanding of the specific goals for each area. The spring workshop schedule and locations will be posted on the project website, www.ourpasadena.org.
The Victory Park Recreation Center is located at 2575 Paloma Street in Pasadena.
