The Friends of the South Pasadena Library Restoration Concert Series Present Susan Greenberg String Trio with Flute and Harp on Sunday, February 2, 2020 – 4:00 p.m. at the South Pasadena Public Library Community Room. Featuring Susan Greenberg (flute), Cristina Montes Mateo (harp), Virginie d’Avezac (viola), Juliette Herlin (cello), and Madalyn Parnas Moeller (violin). Program: Mozart, Gerardo Gombau Apunte Betico, Saint-Saens, Haydn, and Jean Cras.

Cristina Montes Mateo, 1st prize winner at the “Torneo Internationale di Musica (Rome) and the International Harp Competition “V. Bucchi”. Ms. Montes Mateo is one of the leading harpists of her generation and she is a soloist who usually appears with major orchestras around the world. She is Principal Harpist at the Valencia Opera House, and is head of the Harp Department at the Conservatorio Superior of Valencia (Spain).

Madalyn Parnas Moeller, violinist, has concertized worldwide, most recently appearing as guest soloist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Parnas Moeller holds a M.M. and Artist Diploma from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and a M.A. from London’s Royal Academy of Music. She performs on a 1715 Alessandro Gagliano violin.

Virginie d’Avezac, French violist, began her musical studies with the piano at age 5 and entered the Bordeaux National Conservatory at the age of 10. At 14 she found her true musical calling and began studying the viola. Virginie studied with two of France’s most respected violists, Tasso Adamopolos and Serge Collot. She performs regularly in various chamber ensembles in the Los Angeles area.

Juliette Herlin, French cellist, has performed throughout Europe, the U.S. and Asia as a soloist, chamber musician, and recitalist. Recently she made her debut in South Korea performing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Gustav Mahler Orchestra. After her studies at the Conervatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paria and at the Julliard School, Ms. Herlin is now finishing her doctoral degree at U.S.C.

Susan Greenberg, flautist, is a soloist, chamber musician, symphony player, recording artist, and performed with the LA Chamber Orchestra for 36 years. Ms. Greenberg is presently the flute professor at Pepperdine University and Santa Monica College. She is the Co-Artistic Director of Chamber Music Palisades and has recorded for over 500 films and TV shows. Ms. Greenberg’s playing is praised as “brilliant”, “elegant”, and “supple” (Los Angeles Times).
