The Jackalope Indie Artisan is back in Pasadena this weekend, featuring over 200 curated booths at Old Pasadena’s Central Park for this edition of the free and family-friendly event that’s been a staple 2015, offering a weekend of shopping for handmade objets d’art and crafts.
The Jackalope Indie Artisan Fair offers up accessories, body care products, pen and paper art, wall art, and everything else “for the home, for the family, for the fashionista,” and “for the taste buds,” as the organizers categorize the available items on the event website.
Jackalope Arts, launched by Denver native Melissa Shipley and California native Sara Diederich, has been hosting semi-annual events in both Pasadena and Denver and has plans to add a Burbank event in 2019. Each fair showcases over scores of local makers who focus on handmade artistry.
Shipley and Diederich met while working with an international arts organization, creating regular art-centered events in Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle.
“We shared the passion to create a ‘community-meets-artisan event’ focused on the experience of meeting the maker and bringing the local community together in this,” They say on the website. “With that vision, we joined together on this new venture, launching the Jackalope: Indie Artisan Fair in our home cities.”
Apart from the packed artisan lineup, the Jackalope event will also feature acoustic music performances and family friendly activities.
The fair opens at 10 a.m. and closes up today at 5 p.m.
