The Langham Huntington, Pasadena Announces Five Acres as Community Partner in 2015

The Langham Huntington, Pasadena has announced Five Acres, a child and family services agency that strengthens families and prevents child abuse through treatment and education in community-based and residential programs, as the hotel’s community partner in 2015. Through a variety of initiatives beginning with National Adoption Awareness Month in November, the landmark property is supporting the organization and its newly launched permanency campaign called, “20,000 by 2020.”

“20,000 by 2020 Campaign” launched with an unveiling of a unique artistic project dubbed Boy5A, representing the 20,000 children currently living in foster care in Los Angeles. The statue will be on display in seven locations throughout the city over a seven week period, representing the many homes and adjustments a foster child experiences while in care. In conjunction with Five Acres, The Langham Huntington, Pasadena joined to be one of seven “fostering” sponsors to install the Boy5A statue inside the hotel’s grand lobby beginning Monday, December 22 to January 5. While on display, guests will be invited to learn about the need for permanent placement of children in foster care and will be able to donate money to the children and families who are part of Five Acres during the holiday season.

The Langham Huntington, Pasadena initiated its partnership with Five Acres in November 2014 by creating a limited-time room offer available through December 30, 2014 in honor of National Adoption Awareness Month, where the hotel donates 10% from every room booked to Five Acres.

In addition, The Langham Huntington, Pasadena is donating a percentage of funds from Imagine Tea, presented quarterly, to Five Acres throughout 2015. Guests are invited to enjoy a specialty tea menu with magically-decorated desserts while junior entertainers from The Magic Castle are on hand to perform close-up magic. Young guests are invited to attend dressed as whichever character appeals to their imagination. The first Imagine Tea will take place on Sunday, March 1, followed by Sunday, June 7 and Sunday, September 13.
