On Saturday, September 7, 2019, The Residency Project will host Connections & Callings: A Celebration of Nature, Spirituality, and the Arts .

The event will feature an exclusive preview of vibrant, original artworks and an artist talk by artist-in-residence Stephanie Rose Bird, Chicago-based visual artist and author of “365 Days of Hoodoo” and “Sticks, Stones, Roots & Bones.”

Bird joins The Residency Project this September with the hopes of exploring the energies and rhythms of the land, flora and fauna of Pasadena and the San Gabriels.

As a shaman and healer, Bird sees nature through a spiritual lens, and she brings this unique perspective to light through her visual work.

The Connections & Callings event will also offer afternoon tea, a mandala-building workshop, a poetry reading by Lavinia Busch from her book “Mystic Cookie,” and a mini market featuring books authored by The Residency Project’s featured artists, plus handmade wares by local artisans The Amethyst Moon,  Amandine’s , and Abalone Herbals ! Please refer to the Events page at for tickets and up-to-date event details.

The Residency Project provides time and space to support creative research, multi-disciplinary artistic practice, collective living, and public engagement with the arts. Artists from around the world are invited to participate in collaborative creative placemaking through artistic research & practice and arts-based community engagement.

The Residency Project is located at 880 Worcester Avenue in Pasadena.
