For the 11th year in a row, The Salvation Army Pasadena Tabernacle and Pasadena Unified School District’s Families in Transition program are partnering to give away prom attire to local students in need. This year, the event will offer suits, ties, shoes and other accessories in addition to prom dresses.
The dresses, both new and lightly used, will be available to students – accompanied by a parent or guardian – who were pre-registered earlier in the year. Each student will be assigned an appointment for a proper fitting.
In addition to Pasadena Unified students, the prom dress giveaway is offered to students nearby school districts as well.
Prom is an important event for young people across the country, but the high cost of preparing for the event is a barrier for many underprivileged students. For 11 years, The Salvation Army Pasadena Tabernacle has been making dreams come true for hundreds of teens through this event, gifting them not just new clothes, but memories that will last a lifetime.
The giveaway will take place at The Salvation Army Pasadena Tabernacle at 960 East Walnut Street, Pasadena.
