San Marino Police are asking for the public to help them identify two men who stole a valuable package from in front of a house in the 500 block of Greenwood Avenue and then scaped into Pasadena on Saturday.
The package, containing a cellphone, had just been dropped off by a UPS delivery man when another man walked up to the porch and grabbed it, and then ran into a waiting getaway vehicle which then drove northbound out of sight.
The whole incident was recorded through a surveillance camera in the victims house, San Marino Police Detective Patrice Garcia said in an email.
Garcia said the package was dropped off at about 11:02 a.m. At 11:03, the surveillance video showed an early 2000 model Chevrolet Malibu four-door sedan, which appeared to be colored white or silver or tan, near the house just as the first suspect was approaching the porch and stealing the package. After grabbing the package the suspect ran to the passenger side of the vehicle and entered. The car then drove out of the cameras range. The video did not show the vehicles license plate clearly.
The packaged contained a brand new HP Elite X3 cellphone, valued at about $840, Garcia said.
Garcia described the first suspect as in his late teens or early 20s, possibly Asian, of athletic build, dark colored hair, clean shaven, and was wearing a blue-colored baseball cap with an unknown logo. He was in a black long-sleeved sweatshirt with an unknown logo on the front, gray shorts and black tennis shoes.
No description was available for the driver of the getaway vehicle also he was believed to be male.
Anyone with information about the incident or the suspects is advised to call the San Marino Police Department, at (626) 300-0720 or Detective Garcia at (626) 300-0726.
