Third Suspect in Violent Trio Captured in Pasadena Neighborhood Friday Afternoon

A Pasadena police team searching for the third member of a violent trio which assaulted a Vallarta Market employee earlier this month found their man Friday afternoon about 2:30 p.m. in the area of N. Summit Avenue at Mountain Street.

The suspect, identified as Vionnie Freeman, 31, reportedly of Pasadena, was behind the wheel of a car but when officers pulled him over in the 1000 block of North Summit Ave., but Freeman fled and led officers on a foot pursuit, according to Pasadena Police Lt. Max Dahlstein .

A perimeter was set up. Numerous officers flooded the area and the police helicopter joined the search.

About one hour later, Dahlstein said, Freeman was taken into custody without further incident about one block further south hiding in the rear of a residence.

Freeman not armed. There were no injuries during the incident.

Dahlstein said the assault for which Freeman was arrested occurred on June 5 about 2:30 p.m. Freeman allegedly walked into the Vallarta Market at 655 N. Fair Oaks Avenue and with two accomplices attacked and beat an employee, hitting the victim with their fists and kicking him with their feet.

The other two suspects were already arrested, Dahlstein said.
