Three Family Law Attorneys from the Law Offices of Donald P. Schweitzer Selected to the Super Lawyers Southern California Rising Stars Edition 2015

Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive the Rising Star honor, which is designated for attorneys who have been practicing 10 years or less. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.

Patrick Baghdaserians, partner and certified as a family law specialist, was selected to the California Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2014 and 2015. Mr. Baghdaserians handles cases involving extraordinary high-income earners and is a court-appointed Los Angeles County accredited Minor’s Counsel. He is a member of the Southwestern Alumni Board of Directors; spearheads Southwestern’s annual family law CLE “Signing on the Dotted Line,” and has been a Family Law Mediation Panel volunteer since 2013. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University in 2004, he entered Southwestern University School of Law where he received extensive courtroom experience externing for the Honorable Robert M. Takasugi, in the Federal District Court for the Central District of California. Mr. Baghdaserians is fluent in Armenian and a proud member of the Pasadena & Beverly Hills Bar Associations.

Casey Marticorena, partner and certified family law specialist, handles various aspects of family law, including child custody disputes, child support, spousal support, division of property and domestic violence. Ms. Marticorena is a Family Law Mediation Panel volunteer, and Pasadena Bar Association (PBA) trustee for the 2015 Board. She attended Southwestern University School of Law where she received a CALI Award for excellence in family law. While at Southwestern, she was an extern for the Target Crimes Division of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Judge Amy M. Pellman of the Los Angeles Superior Court, Family Law Division. Ms. Marticorena is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a prestigious national honors society and fluent in Spanish.

Nitasha Khanna is a family law attorney was also selected in the 2014 and 2015 California Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. She completed her legal studies at Southwestern University School of Law, where she was recognized as Second Place Writer and Finalist Oralist in the 2008 Intramural Moot Court Competition. While at Southwestern, Ms. Khanna externed in the Major Fraud Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, and the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice. During her last year, she became a Staff Member of the Southwestern Journal of International Law, where she received a Bluebook Award. She also received a CALI award for excellence in Advanced Legal Writing.
