The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association has announced the process for selecting the 2019 Rose Parade Royal Court and the dates for important events leading to the annual New Year’s Day parade, America’s New Year Celebration.

Initial interviews for girls desiring to become a part of history in the search for the 2019 Royal Court and the 101st Rose Queen will take place on Saturday, September 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and on Monday, September 10, 3 to 5 p.m. at the Tournament House at 391 South Orange Grove Blvd. in Pasadena.

During the interviews, the Tournament of Roses will assign each participant a number instead of announcing the name to prevent bias and maintain anonymity.

After the interviews, other Tournament of Roses Royal Court events that follow include a photo opportunity with the Royal Court finalists on September 26, 2:30 p.m. at the Tournament House.

The announcement of those selected to compose the Royal Court will be on October 1, 9 a.m. at the Tournament House.

The winning Rose Queen will be announced and crowned on October 23, 5:30 p.m., at the Pasadena Playhouse, located at 39 S. El Molino Avenue in Pasadena.

As part of the Tournament of Roses tradition, the 2019 Royal Court will attend nearly 100 community and media functions in Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area, serving as ambassadors of the Tournament of Roses.

On New Year’s Day, the Royal Court will be riding on the Royal Court float in the 130th Rose Parade presented by Honda and attending the 105th Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual.
