A 40-year-old homeless man was arrested after he allegedly kidnapped and physically assaulted a 29-year-old woman, who police said was the suspect’s former girlfriend, at a vacant home in Pasadena near the Lincoln Avenue Post Office.
Pasadena police Lt. John Luna said the incident was reported at 9:16 a.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue.
“Officers responded to a report of transients entering a vacant home,” Luna said. “Upon their arrival, they were flagged down by the victim who reported she had been knocked unconscious, physically assaulted and kidnapped by the suspect who was inside the vacant residence. Officers searched the location and detained the suspect who was positively identified by the victim.”
Luna said the victim had a “past relationship with the suspect.” The victim was taken to a hospital and admitted for her injuries including lacerations in the face and possible facial fractures.
The suspect, Diman Morris, 40, was arrested for assault with great bodily injury, kidnapping and outstanding warrants, Luna said, and additional charges are also being recommended.
Morris was booked at the Pasadena city jail. He was transferred to the County’s Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles and is being held on a $1.1 million bail.
