A two-alarm house fire in the 2200 block of east Villa Street reported at 9:51 p.m. Sunday night has displaced a family of six and their pets.
When the first Pasadena Fire Department engine arrived, firefighters encountered the home’s detached garage fully involved in fire.
In all, a total of six engines including, according to a witness, a hook-and-ladder truck were assigned, as well as two rescue ambulances.
Pasadena police provided traffic control, authorities said.
A family of four adults and two children, along with two dogs and a bird, were displaced and assisted by Red Cross.
The Pasadena Humane Society was also on scene for pet care, authorities said.
No estimate of damage dollar amount has yet been provided by the Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is undetermined pending an investigation, authorities said, noting that an arson investigator was called to the scene.
