Two Alleged Gang Members Shot, Critically Injured Near La Pintoresca Park

Two alleged gang members were shot and critically wounded Thursday night about 10:43 p.m.

Police officers responding to a 911 call reporting shots fired and a person down in the 100 block of Pepper Street found one Latino man lying on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound, Lt. Vasken Gourdikian said.

“He was transported to a hospital in critical condition,” Gourdikian said. “Shortly after, during our investigation, a second victim was dropped off at the hospital by an unknown person in a vehicle.”

The second victim, also a Latino man, was admitted to the hospital with a critical gunshot wound.

“Our belief is that they are known to one another, but we have yet to be able to confirm that,” Gourdikian said. “It seems like they were both together at the time of the shooting.”

Gourdikian said the suspect remains unknown and an investigation is underway.
