Two armed men robbed the 7-Eleven store at the corner of North Lake Avenue and East Orange Grove Boulevard at 4:35 a.m. Thursday morning, police said.
There were no injuries. The bandits fled eastward on Orange Grove on foot, Lt. Marcia Taglioretti said.
The two men entered the store in the 600 block of North Lake Avenue and approached the 27-year-old clerk at the counter. One man pulled out a nickel-plated handgun, pointed it at the clerk, and demanded the clerk open the cash register.
After the clerk complied, the second man scooped up the cash, and the pair ran out.
The first gunman is described as being Hispanic and in his twenties. He was short, 5 foot 5 or 6 inches tall, and wore a red bandana over his face. He had on a black hoodie and khaki pants.
The second suspect is also described as Hispanic and in his twenties, standing about 5 foot 10 inches tall. He covered his face with a blue bandana. He wore a black zippered sweater, black pants, and black gloves. He carried a black handgun, Taglioretti said.
The suspects made off with $100 from the store’s cash register, according to Taglioretti.
