Police jailed two Pasadena men Sunday on suspicion of breaking into at least eight cars parked outside the Rose Bowl in recent days.
Police arrested the suspects outside the stadium shortly before noon after a witness reported seeing them tampering with a car in one of the parking lots surrounding the Rose Bowl, Pasadena police Lt. Max Dahlstein said.
They tried to walk away when police arrived, but were detained as officers conducted an investigation, he said.
Inside their pickup truck, officers found items stolen from at least eight cars that had been burglarized while parked outside the Rose Bowl since Thursday, according to the lieutenant. The recovered haul included credit cards and other identifying documents belonging to the victims.
Officers recognized the description of the suspects truck from prior car break-ins reported days earlier, Dahlstein added. They had searched for, but did not find, the same truck following an auto burglary outside the stadium on Thursday.
Lorenzo Rincon, 23, and LaAntonio Coleman, 34, were expected to face charges including burglary, conspiracy and identity theft, Dahlstein said. Both men already had outstanding arrest warrants.
According to county booking records, Rincons bail was set at $96,000. Coleman was being held without bail.
