Here’s the great thing about Valentine’s Day in Pasadena: you have hundreds of great choices. Here’s the bad thing: you have hundreds of great choices.

Add Mijares Restaurant to the list of great places to be with the one you love on Valentine’s Day—actually, two more, since Mijares has two locations in Pasadena.

Chef Campos is preparing some special dishes for that night of romance, and just to let the love linger, the menu will be available for lunch and dinner from February 14, through February 16.

The Valentine’s Day menu features a choice of Sirenitas (“mermaids”), which is two enchiladas stuffed with lobster, shrimp, and spinach, then topped with salsa verde and Monterey jack cheese. It’s served with rice, beans and sour cream.

There is also a Filet Mignon served with chipotle horseradish, mashed potatoes and green beans.

The Tamale Trio features pork tamale smothered in our red sauce, a chicken tamale and a chile cheese tamale, smothered in our salsa verde, and served with rice and beans.

Something a little lighter? There is also a Filete de Pescado—fresh in-season from Fish King, grilled and prepared with our Cilantro Lime Butter and served with fresh vegetables, white rice and sour cream.

And how about something to toast your love to? Mijares also has San Antonio Champagne as well as Mumm champagne to make the evening really sparkle.

And it wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without something sweet. Mijares also has a wide variety of desserts to feed each other from, like the pair of lovebirds that you are.

The rest of the evening? That’s up to you.

Mijares is at 145 Palmetto Drive, Pasadena, (626) 792-2763; and 1806 E. East Washington Street, Pasadena. (626) 794-6674. www.mijaresrestaurant.com
