The Bruins had just broken a three-game losing streak when they defeated USC Saturday, 34-27, in the Great Rivalry game at the Rose Bowl. For running back Josh Kelley, this was one of the hottest games of his career, rushing 289 yards on 40 carries and scoring two touchdowns.
UCLA may need to watch out for Stanford’s running back Bryce Love and wide receiver JJ Arcega Whiteside, who had more time to prepare for Saturday, with the Cardinal having an extra week of rest after its game against Cal was postponed to December 1.
Saturday also marks the 2018 Senior Salute, where seniors are traditionally accorded pregame honors. The first 10,000 people to enter the stadium wearing Powderkeg blue will get a set of UCLA Football Senior trading cards.
Fans are advised to be seated by 11:30 a.m. so they won’t miss the pregame festivities, which include a National Anthem performance by the UCLA Marching Band, a seven-plane flyover, and the annual Senior Salute pregame ceremony.
Halftime will feature performances by both teams’ marching bands.
Also new this season, as part of UCLA’s new comprehensive military appreciation ticket program, active duty members of the military, veterans and their families can purchase tickets for all regular-season UCLA home sporting events at half price. The 50-percent discount will be offered at two different seat locations and price points. In partnership with GovX, these specially-priced tickets may be purchased in advance online through www.uclbruins.com/military.
As a reminder, the Rose Bowl is implementing enhanced screening procedures, including the use of electronic security equipment at all gates, during all UCLA Football games. The stadium’s Clear Bag Policy, designed for more consistent security screening and to expedite entry, limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into the Rose Bowl.

UCLA is also partnering with Ronald McDonald House on a charity toy drive this final game of the season. Fans are encouraged to bring new and unwrapped toys in their original packaging to any Rose Bowl entry gate on Saturday. Everyone who donates a toy will receive a pair of tickets to a UCLA Men’s or Women’s Basketball game.
New dining offerings are also available at the Rose Bowl. Concessionaire Levy Restaurants offers Carmela Ice Cream, Poke Nachos, Border Grill and much more. Fans can also find value-priced concessions in two locations at the stadium. Value-priced $3 nachos and hot dogs and discounted fountain beverages are on sale near tunnels 8 and 21.
