Union Station, MUSE/IQUE Team Up to Help End Homelessness

Union Station Homeless Services and MUSE/IQUE teamed up yet again for a genre-bending evening of entertainment for a great cause. More than 375 guests enjoyed the 15th annual An Evening for the Station benefit concert, which raised more than $80,000 for the non-profit homeless services agency. Guests enjoyed an incredible Beatles/Bash by MUSE/IQUE, the “counter conventional” orchestra on October 29 at 6:00 p.m., at Noor in Pasadena.

“This collaboration is an opportunity to deepen MUSE/IQUE’s civic and artistic missions,” says Rachael Worby. “Union Station makes all of our lives better. Their fierce advocacy on behalf of every soul in our city is deeply moving, and it is an honor to participate in a fundraising effort for this extraordinary cause.”

All proceeds from the 15th annual An Evening for the Station will support Union Station Homeless Services, the San Gabriel Valley’s largest and most comprehensive social service agency assisting homeless men, women and children.

Maestra Rachael Worby is the visionary force behind MUSE/IQUE, a deconstructed orchestra made up of virtuoso musicians, artists, creators, and stellar guests the likes of Flea, Patti Austin, Charlie Haden, Arturo Sandoval, Angela Bassett, and many more.

“When Rabbi Marv Gross asked us to explore the brilliance of the Beatles for this celebration, we couldn’t wait to dream up fabulous surprises just for Union Station’s dearest supporters,” she says. “We brought the best of our Beatles deconstruction to An Evening for the Station.”

These “mash-ups” are designed by Rachael Worby and they feature orchestra musicians with rock, pop, country and gospel artists. Together they uncovered the sublime genius of rock’s most revolutionary group.

Union Station Homeless Services is the San Gabriel Valley’s largest social service agency assisting homeless and very low-income adults and families. Its mission is to help men, women and children rebuild their lives and end homelessness. Union Station provides comprehensive services to help homeless individuals achieve self-sufficiency, emergency shelter, case management, housing navigation, medical and mental health referrals, women’s and family services, career counseling, and housing resources. MUSE/IQUE is a non-profit organization creating inspired live events and innovative outreach programs. In addition to our public programs, our musicians deliver season long music immersion classes for residential foster youth, and we also deliver free concerts and free tickets throughout the community so that everyone may participate in MUSE/IQUE. We aim to remove all barriers and become the most accessible orchestra possible with the most interesting audience. Membership sustains all of our efforts.
