Police Keep Up Barrage of Special Patrols, Announce Friday Enforcement Program Focused on Speeders

Published on Monday, February 11, 2019 | 12:07 pm

The Pasadena Police Department will be conducting a focused Traffic Enforcement program on Friday, February 15 throughout the City of Pasadena, the Dept. said in a statement.
Officers will be deployed at various locations throughout the city to look for violations including, but not limited to, primary collision factors involving speed or red signals.
When violations are observed, violators will be cited and/or educated on the safety concerns associated with the violation.
The need for driver education and enforcement is constantly on the rise due to traffic volume within the City of Pasadena, police said.
“We welcome community input and engagement regarding traffic safety, so please feel free to get in touch with me regarding problem locations,” said Traffic Section Lieutenant Mark Goodman. “We use suggestions from our community along with analytics to deploy our resources wisely. This applies all the time, not just on days we are doing special programs,” said Goodman. “Our resources are limited, however we are always looking for ways to enhance our service.”
The Pasadena Police Department’s ultimate goal is to enforce and educate the driving public while at the same time reducing serious injuries and fatal collisions. Lieutenant Goodman can be reached via e-mail at mgoodman@cityofpasadena.net.
Funding for these programs is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
