Maybe you’ve seen people zipping by on three wheeled electric vehicles around Pasadena or maybe this is your first encounter with the URB-E. One thing is for sure – it won’t be your last. These revolutionary personal transportation devices are filling the gap between public transportation and giving customers an elegant way to commute.
URB-E manufacturers all their vehicles right in California and is debuting a new model. After the success of the original URB-E, the team is ready to roll out URB-E Sport, an ultra lightweight, fully electric transportation device. URB-E Sport is priced at $899 and geared towards college students and commuters on a budget.
The sport model is made of 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum and weighs 30 pounds. It can reach a top speed of 14 miles per hour and has a 16 mile range. The heart of URB-E Sport is a new, removable power source called Eddy, in homage to Thomas Edison. This specially designed battery can charge four mobile devices and a laptop (via both USB 2.0 and USB Type C ports) while you ride. It comes with convenient leather carrying straps and a one-year warranty.
Check out URB-E Sport at their launch event on Friday May 12 from 5 p.m to 9 p.m. Enjoy food and drinks by White Horse Lounge, 85 c Bakery, Bird Pick Tea and music by DJ Bianca Lexis on a Bang & Olufsen sound system. Special guests include L.A Metro and the University of Southern California Department of Transportation. The event is free but RSVP is required by May 10.
URB-E is located at 54 West Green Street. Call (626) 460-8113 or visit www.urb-e.com.
