First United Methodist Church of Pasadena will present their staff Organist, Aaron Shows, in his first concert at the church on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. The concert is part of the church’s monthly Third@First Concert Series. Admission is free.

In this concert, organist Aaron Shows will showcase the wide possibilities of the pipe organ as a performance medium for many styles of music. Listeners of all ages will enjoy hearing the deep spirituality of a Baroque chorale prelude alongside transcriptions of lush orchestral film music. There will even be some opportunities to sing along!

Aaron Shows is a composer, organist, and pianist originally from Montgomery, Alabama. He has performed in both the United States as well as Europe, and also an avid improvisor in a variety of styles, a skill he has developed since early childhood. As a composer, his original works have been performed throughout the United States as well as in Europe, and his solo organ works are recently published through Augsburg Fortress Publishers in Minneapolis. He has composed original scores for feature and short films, and for web series and commercials. He holds an MFA in Film Music Composition from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and a BFA in Church Music from Shenandoah University.

First United Methodist Church is located at 500 E. Colorado Blvd, in the Playhouse District of Pasadena. Off-street parking is available behind the church and may be accessed from Green Street (a one-way street that runs east; access from Los Robles Avenue).
