The Pasadena Fire Department has warned the residents that vehicles parked on streets in designated Red Flag areas will now be ticketed and towed.

Municipal Code Chapter 10.65 prohibits vehicles to park on Red Flag zones in the Arroyo Seco and foothills adjacent to the San Gabriel Mountains once Red Flag alerts have been raised.

The department is set to mail 5,000 postcards informing residents who live in previously designated Red Flag areas that the grace or waiver period is over and that the City is now entering the “towing” phase of its enforcement efforts.

Another 5,000 postcards will be distributed through various public counters at city buildings and libraries, officials said.

The postcards were prepared in English and Spanish by the City Manager’s Office, in conjunction with the Fire Department, Department of Transportation and the Print Shop.
