The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has dropped felony charges against former WBC Welterweight Champion boxer Victor Ortiz, who was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon against another concertgoer at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl last month.
His brother Temoc Ortiz was also arrested in connection with the incident.
But it does not mean the Ortiz brothers are in the clear.
A TMZ report said the District Attorney has reject the felony case and handed it down for the Pasadena City Prosecutor, who will now consider pursuing a misdemeanor charge of assault with a deadly weapon and battery.
It is not clear if the DA’s ruling includes the case against Ortiz’s brother.
The “Expendables 3” actor and his brother were arrested and booked after the assault incident which happened during a Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean concert at the Rose Bowl. Temoc Ortiz allegedly punched the 24-year-old man and Victor Ortiz kicked him in the head when he fell to the ground.
The deadly weapon alleged in the complaint was Victor’s foot, the TMZ report said.
