On July 3 over 50 people volunteered in meal preparation for the homeless veterans and needy at the Holy Assembly Church of God in Pasadena.

Through the organization, FeedLACounty.org, volunteers prepped 2,500 meals to distribute at three locations throughout Los Angeles on July 4: Memorial and Central Park in Pasadena, First Friends Church Atlantic in Long Beach, and Skid Row Veterans Center in Downtown Los Angeles.

Each meal box contained: a hot link, BBQ pork ribs, BBQ chicken, green beans, potato or macaroni salad, beans, a piece of fruit, slice of bread, piece of cake or several cookies, and a bottle of water.

“We have a lot of homeless veterans and homeless families, people who need food assistance, so we do this regularlyā€¯ said event coordinator and media director Sue Tzu Hewitt.

For 15 years this organization has been making grab-n-go style meals for the homeless.
