Want a Drink? You're in Luck: SIP-Tember is Underway

Pasadena’s annual SIP-tember Cocktail Contest is now on, warming hearts and minds across Pasadena.

The SIP-tember Cocktail Bracket Challenge, an annual six-week long competition among, returned last Thursday, August 15 at Pasadena Chamber of Commerce member restaurants and lounges throughout the greater Pasadena area. It is presented as a Pasadena Restaurant Week event sponsored by the City of Pasadena, Wells Fargo, the Sierra Family of Dealerships and the Rose Bowl.

Voting online is on through Friday, September 13, and the Grand Finale is on October 10, during the fifth Taste of Pasadena at the Rose Bowl, when more than 30 Pasadena restaurants and caterers will offer food and drink samples, including tastes of the four finalist cocktail in the SIP-tember Challenge.

Contestants this year include The Tap Room at the Langham Huntington Hotel, Mi Piace, Roy’s Hawaiian, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Bistro 45, White Horse Lounge, and the Lucky Baldwin’s Tappise Pub, among others.

Drinks being offered for the SIP-tember Challenge include special margaritas and new interpretations of traditional cocktails from some of Pasadena’s premier mixologists.

A Pasadena Chamber of Commerce announcement said restaurants offering food at Taste of Pasadena may include Pasadena Sandwich Company, El Cholo, POP Champagne Bar and Restaurant, Cabrera’s Restaurant, California Pizza Kitchen, Chick-fil-A, Clearman’s Galley, Madeline Garden Bistro, Nekter Juice Bar, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Simply Cupcakes of Pasadena and Stonefire Grill.

During Taste of Pasadena, guests vote to chose their favorite cocktail. The Favorite Cocktail 2019 will be announced later in the evening.

Admission to Taste of Pasadena is $35 in advance and $75 at the door. Advanced ticket sales are  available until October 5.
