Charges of involuntary manslaughter and infliction of injury to spouse have been filed against a 24-year-old woman accused of fatally injuring her 74-year-old husband.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed the charges against Gina Sas yesterday, authorities said.

Sas’s husband, Chi-Lung Chang, was hospitalized with severe head trauma after a domestic violence incident on April 1 at his residence in the  200 block of S. Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena.

Pasadena police has responded to a call at approximately 3:00 p.m. that afternoon and upon arrival found Chang standing outside the west entrance of his residence. He had sustained a small laceration to his head. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Upon further investigation it was determined that the Sas had caused the injury, police said. She was arrested for domestic violence and booked in the Los Angeles County Jail.

Chang remained hospitalized but worsened and died on April 18.  Thursday, Sas was charged in connection with his death.

Sas remains in custody on $125,000.00 bail. Detectives are continuing their investigation and ask that anyone with information contact Detective Van Kim at (626) 744-7128 or the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241.
