A woman walking alone along North Fair Oaks Avenue Thursday night was shoved to the ground and robbed of her purse by a young man who got away, police said.

The 45-year-old victim then walked one and a half miles to the Pasadena Police Department headquarters to report the crime, Lt. Jason Clawson said.

Clawson said the victim was uninjured in the robbery attack.

The incident began about 11:23 p.m. last night as the woman walked on the west side of the street and was approaching Claremont Street. She reported a young man approached her from behind and shoved her so hard she fell to the ground.

The robber grabbed her purse and fled, the victim said.

Lt. Clawson said the suspect is a black man aged 18 to 20 years who stands from 5′ 10″ to 6 feet tall. The suspect was wearing a blue and black zip-up sweater at the time of the attack.

There is no dollar value placed on the victim’s loss, but her purse did contain her wallet with all her ID, Lt. Clawson said.
