Ann Scheid is a well known architectural historian and preservationist and author of books and articles on Pasadena history, city planning and landscape history.

Her topic as Woman’s Civic League’s speaker at the April 1st luncheon held at the Women’s City Club of Pasadena focused on the development of Pasadena as a health resort, and how that history is reflected in Pasadena today.

Scheid emphasized in her presentation the significant role the Woman’s Civic League founded in 1911 played in all areas of Pasadena City development. A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Ann for her fascinating presentation. The dining table centerpieces with an Easter theme were a darling assortment of Easter Bunnies provided by Woman’s Civic League members, Darlene Besocke and Rita Elshout.

The purpose of the Woman’s Civic League is the advancement of civic ideals through the support of agencies providing services to women and children and the enrichment of the lives of members through the accomplishment of common goals and development of lasting friendships.
