The Pasadena City College women's cross country team placed ninth out of 14 scoring teams at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational meet held October 17. Placing 34th individually, Edna Bailon edged teammate Ashley Medina for the fastest PCC mark at 19:54.5 over the 3-mile course. Medina was 35th at 19:54.9.

It was the first time in six meets this year that Medina did not post the Lancers' fastest time. Ironically, both runners are PCC sophomores who ran together previously at the prep level at Arroyo High.

Tansica Sunkamaneevongse placed 65th (20:58.1) while Kate Manzke was 71st (21:10.8). The rest of the Lancers finished as follows: Karen Caal, 87th, 22:12.4; Tessa Chandler, 100th, 22:52.4; Marina Flores, 102nd, 23:03.1; and Rebecca Serrano, 118th, 24:38.8.

Host Mt. SAC won the team title while East Los Angeles racer Laura Aceves won the race in a time of 17:44.

The Lancers will now prepare to host the South Coast Conference Championships to be held at Hahamongna Watershed Park in Pasadena on Friday, Oct. 31.
