At the end of each year, the student body elects the student council cabinet (elected officials) for the following year. Students run for the positions of secretary, treasurer, historian, public relations, vice-president, and president. This year was competitive and all of the candidates were highly qualified.

A.G.B.U. Vatche & Tamar Manoukian student council candidates for the 2017-2018 school year delivered their speeches to the student body. Voting was conducted during homeroom period on Friday May 19, 2017 and results were announced at assembly on Monday May 22nd. The voting was close, which illustrates the capability of all the candidates and trust the community has in them. But in the end, there can be only one winner per category. The 2017-2018 Student Council Executive officers are:
• President: Tamar Donoyon
• Vice President: Brianna Momjian
• Secretary: Michael Keshishian
• Treasurer: Ethan Keshishian
• Historian: Galin Aghkyan
• Public Relations: Loreni Yepremian
Students who are still interested in having a seat on the student council will have the opportunity to run for class representative in the fall. Each class, seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshmen will have one representative (one student per grade level). These candidates will be elected by their classmates at the beginning of the academic year.
In addition, students may choose to run for one of the remaining, limited available SC Member seats. The elected student council members and class representatives vote on members.
Whether students have a formal seat on the Student Council or not, the school hopes that everyone will get involved with the activities, volunteer and offer their unique skills and talents when the time comes.
