African American Parent Council Needs Math Power Hour Volunteers



AAPC’s Math Power Hour (MPH) is a great example of parent-district-teacher collaboration and a great opportunity to volunteer in the classroom and support young minds!

Are you smarter than a second grader? AAPC is banking on it! The African American Parent Council (AAPC) in conjunction with PUSD and the United Teachers of Pasadena have created a united front to battle the fact that a large number of children struggling with the earliest basic foundations of math starting in the first and second grades.

This is where you come in. Math Power Hour (MPH) is created to make it easy for you to dedicate and donate what children would cherish the most… your time. A volunteer-based program where compassionate members of the community give one to three hours a week, based on their availability throughout the year, to help establish confidence and solidify children’s early numeracy skills.

“We need volunteers. We need YOU! Help us make a difference in our children’s lives that will last a lifetime.”
