AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian High School’s Opening Convocation – First Day of School

On Thursday, August 22, 2019 AGBU Vatche & Tamar Manoukian High School opened its doors for the 14th time to many familiar faces as well as new ones. The school welcomed its scholars into another year filled with promises and excitement.

With 2020 graduating year approaching, the event started with its Principal, Mrs. Gohar Stambolyan reminding the students that their vision for their future should be as clear as “20-20” as they embark on their academic journeys. Special guests in attendance were, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate who gave his benediction to our students and Board of Trustees, Co-Chair Mrs. Leslie Shahinian.

Mrs. Stambolyan introduced Student Council President, Joseph Atme who welcomed our students back to school with enthusiasm. Dean of Students, Mrs. Lena Agulian gave a summary of uniform and behavior expectations while College & Academic Counselor Mr. Dan Marmor motivated them to start the year strong, set goals and reach for the sky!

After the ceremony, students were dismissed to their classes while parents stayed to enjoy Coffee with the Principal and participate in the first Parent Support Group meeting of the year.
