In light of Valentine’s Day, members of AGBU Vatche & Tamar Manoukian High School Service Club sponsored a Donut Sale to raise money along with personalized Valentine’s Day cards for the Ronald McDonald House of Pasadena.
Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. For children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to call home so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little to no cost.
On Tuesday, February 13th, 2018, four members of Service Club accompanied by Mrs. Markarian delivered the monetary donation and hand-written cards. They were given a tour of the House. The tour-guide gave them an insight as to what it’s like to stay at a Ronald McDonald House, since for many it is their home away from home. Once the tour came to an end the students learned that the Ronald McDonald House of Pasadena was actually established on Valentine’s Day.
