Alverno High School Take First Place in Copper Division at Tri-City Tournament



The Alverno Varsity Volleyball Team participated in the Garey High School Tri-City Volleyball Tournament this past week. There were a total of 16 high schools that participated. The start of the tournament took place Wednesday afternoon and concluded on Saturday morning. Alverno High School played Garey High School for their chance at the Copper Division Championship, winning 3 out of 5 sets for the match. As a result, Alverno then played 5 intense sets for the Championship against Rowland Heights. Alverno would win one set then Rowland the other, until finally it came down to the final set where the Alverno Varsity Team worked hard to leave it all on the court; resulting in a win, 15-13 and Alverno High School was given the Trophy for 1st Place Varsity Copper Division.
